About Alan Johnson

I am a former British soldier and non-commissioned officer. I am a qualified vehicle mechanic and indentured central heating and ventilation engineer. I have lived and worked in Germany since 1978 (including military service but with one or two short breaks) and was already acting as a military translator and interpreter in 1982. I now concentrate on translations only.

I have been a Geological Engineer (Staatlich Geprüfter Geologietechniker) since July 1999, which explains some of my specialist translation areas. Please see the Services page for details.
